Motivation:

• A global feature [26,1,17,47,48], also commonly referred to as “global descriptor” or “embedding”, summarizes the contents of an image, often leading to a compact representation; information about the spatial arrangement of visual elements is lost.

• Global features can learn similarities across very different poses where local features would not be able to find correspondences;
